Students travelling to school by bicycle should lock it up in one of the designated cycle sheds located near the technology department, by the squash courts or at either end of the Comberton Sports and Arts building. The school cannot accept
responsibility for cycles or any equipment on them.
Cycles must be in a roadworthy condition with working brakes and correctly inflated tyres. We strongly recommend your child wears a helmet while riding their bike and that they have lights fitted, particularly in winter.
Cycling is not allowed on the college grounds except to and from the cycle sheds and with permission, during PE lessons.
Students who have reached their 16th birthday and wish to travel by moped/motorbike to college cannot do so until they have registered it with the Site Office at the college.聽 To do this students must bring their (provisional) driving licence, proof of ownership, insurance document and their CBT certificate.
All vehicles must be parked in the designated bay at the front of the Sixth Form. Correct clothing and safety equipment must be worn at all times.
Please note there is no access to the horseshoe at the front of the school for cars – except for those with special dispensation – between 8.00am and 8.25am and between 2.15 and 3.00pm.
In the morning parents/carers should drop off their children in the car park where a 鈥渄rop-off lane鈥 is available, in front of the Comberton Sports and Arts building. In the afternoon for pupil safety, priority is given to taxis and buses across the whole site. If you are picking your child up by private vehicle, we ask that this is done AFTER 3pm, when access is permitted to the car park and the bus lane (when school buses have safely departed from the campus). We ask that in the car park, cars park in marked bays and do not obstruct the flow of other traffic. Parking on double yellow lines is strictly prohibited at all times.
Students collected by taxi should wait for their lift in the main car park on the corner of the Sixth Form building. Year 13 Sixth Form students who have passed their driving test and wish to drive to school must obtain a permit from the Sixth Form Admin Office. They need to bring in their driving licence, proof of ownership and a current MOT certificate (if applicable). Students should only use the car parks to the side of Comberton Sports and Arts or behind the Sports Hall. Year 12 students will only be issued permits in exceptional circumstances.
Students, except Blue Badge Holders, must not use the horseshoe, the main car park or the spaces in front of the Sixth Form building during school hours.
